Sulfur Beads for your nitrate filter made of 99.6% pure sulfur. In the sulfur nitrate filter, sulfur beads are used as food and energy source for the bacteria. Sulfur balls should only be used in slow running, anaerobic filters, for nitrate degradation.
pH and carbonate hardness should be checked regularly.
We recommend:
A combination of sulfur filter and filter tank with hydrogen carbonate (e.g. coral rubble) to buffer the low pH.
